Clausthal University of Technology (TU Clausthal) is a research-focused university with approximately 4,000 students and more than 1,200 employees. TU Clausthal offers an outstanding national and international networking. Being here means short commutes, personal interaction, and efficient administration of your needs. TU Clausthal is located in the diverse landscape of the Upper Harz region in the middle of a UNESCO World Heritage Site in the Harz Mountains. The university is the most significant economic factor and the largest employer in the region, offering cultural diversity and internationalism. Our university is an ideal place for you if you enjoy working close to students (small classes, direct and effective supervision) and close to nature (you are actually inside) and close to sports facilities (e.g. enjoy more than 60 lakes ready for swimming and other activities in summer and skiing in winter; both within 5 minutes walking distance).

With the university's strategic focus on the Circular Economy, our research group aims to provide efficient and transparent algorithms for fair resources-saving solutions. We focus on collective decision making (such as voting, fair division, stable matching, course allocation, diffusion of opinions in social networks, etc.) and apply methods from parameterized algorithmics, social choice and algorithmic game theory. We focus and theoretical results (computational complexity, algorithm design, properties of decision protocols) and practical evaluation and implementations thereof.
